Born in Vancouver and growing up on the West Coast, Bruce Muir has always had a keen interest in painting natural scenes.Bruce has pursued artistic endeavors since childhood with the support of his family and teachers.At age 15 he met artist Ken Kirkby, who was to become a major influence in his life and artwork.


Bruce has been painting full time for many years and has also worked in other occupations that helped his profession.Forestry(BCIT Diploma), fishing, and Tug boating are some of the activities that Bruce was involved in before Art took over.The years spent in these fields gave Bruce a solid background of knowledge in the natural world that he paints.

Bruce has won numerous awards for his artwork including "Artist of the Year" for:

Bruce was recently commissioned to do a mural for the B.C.Children’s Hospital. He has had many art shows as well as group shows. His work can currently be viewed on the websites of Mark Penney Gallery, Ucluelet and the Art Junction Gallery, Whistler.
