""Lachesis"" the future based on the threads that were woven by the three fates of the goddesses of the Greek, mythological story- Klotho

Klotho ( present) spun the thread of life, Lachesis (the future)measured its length, Atropos(the past) cut it

The representation of the women in the story was visually told with beauty and in writings as old and ""ugly"". In all cases a thread is present in the story. This piece represents the knots of life, the illusion of time as a measure of beauty and the revealing beauty in tangled threads."

Michelle Loughery and Sveva Caetani Connection:

"I have a very personal connection to Artist Sveva Caetani as to the time me and my children lived in the Caetani House. Creating many works while living in the house and helping to raise funds to maintain the house was an experience that was life changing. The house when I moved in held a room with many of Sveva’s personal belongings still there. Huge crates of letters and art, her desk with all the notes and pens still in the drawers. The furniture and art works breathed with her presence. The portrait of Sveva I painted that lives in the house was created in the house and the soul of Sveva was everywhere when the piece was created. The house and the connection so many have to Sveva is iconic and I believe Sveva is the Frida Khalo of Canada.  In 2010 I painted the mural of Sveva Caetani and her family titled "The Captive Artist" on the Schmidt optical building on 31st."
